TABNAK, Aug, 27: Armenia is in dire need of technology and expertise in areas such as transit, agriculture, animal husbandry, mining and transportation which can be met by Iranian experts.
According to official data, over 90 percent of Iranian technical and engineering services exports have been received by Armenia over recent years. However, Iranian officials and economic experts believe that Iran has the potential of exporting US$2.5 billion of technical services to the neighboring country.
For instance, Armenian cooper, gold, iron and molybdenum mines have not become fully operational and the country still needs more investment and technology, a golden opportunity for Iranian companies.
Currently, an Iranian contracting company has been building key bridges in Armenia. The company has previously constructed bridges connecting Armenia to Georgia.
Electricity, oil, gas, petrochemistry, water and wastewater fields have been other areas in which Iran has been involved in Armenia.
Late April, The chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iran Water Industry Federation Reza Haj karim said the country exported $1.8 billion worth of technical and engineering services over the past two years.
